Orca Host

Iceland-themed idle/management game — bootstrap a hosting company from a Reykjavík bedroom Pi to a geothermal hyperscaler

Browser-based idle/management game in the spirit of Cookie Clicker and Airline Simulator 4. You start hosting websites on a Raspberry Pi in a Reykjavík bedroom and grow into a hyperscale cloud provider over many hours of play. The Icelandic setting is the through-line: ISK currency, Icelandic number formatting, geothermal power as a late-game advantage, undersea cable cuts as a recurring incident type, and place names rooted in Iceland (Reykjavík → Hafnarfjörður → Keflavík → Akureyri datacenter expansion).

Earnest hosting-industry sim with a dark NOC-dashboard aesthetic and IBM Plex typography. Very clicky early game — manual provisioning, ticket handling, restarts — that gradually idles out as staff and tooling automate the work. Cookie-Clicker-style cadence: first meaningful action within 30 seconds, first big upgrade within 5 minutes, a satisfying session loop within 30–60 minutes.

UI strings are English; only number, currency, and date formatting use Icelandic conventions. Phase 2d shipped (engine pipeline, economy, save layer, customers, infrastructure, incidents, tickets, staff, hotkeys, audio bus, news panel, MVP loop test). Built on Vite 5 + React 19 + strict TypeScript with Zustand bridging a non-React engine to the UI snapshot.
